INTRODUCTION

About this Recipe

It’s tradition to clink a glass of bubbly with friends to celebrate the new year. Why not add a bit of flair to that tradition? Introducing the Ball Drop. This cocktail is fruity, bubbly, and more than one will help you forget the woes of the year past.

INGREDIENTS

Cocktail

  • 1 cup apricot nectar – for ice cubes
  • .5 oz orange spice syrup – for ice cubes
  • 1 oz Greenhouse Peach and Orange Blossom Vodka
  • Small bottle LaMarca Prosecco
  • Raspberries – for garnish

Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 orange peel
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup water
DIRECTIONS

The Syrup

To make the syrup, mix 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, the peel of one orange and 3 cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks and orange peel pieces and pour into an appropriate bottle.

Tip: Dry the now candied orange peel slices in the oven. Set aside and use for future cocktail garnishes.

The Ball

You’ll need to buy round ice cube molds. They make a fun addition to many cocktails and are simple to use.

Mix the apricot nectar and orange spice syrup and pour into molds. Let freeze until solid.

The Cocktail

Once your ice balls (teehee) are frozen, they are ready to drop in your cocktail. Add your vodka and Prosecco to a New Years appropriate glass. Carefully drop in your ice cube ball and don’t forget the raspberries. Cheers!
